Deepest Hotel Basement in London
Address: The Londoner. Leicester Square. Deepest Hotel Basement in London
Our client: McGee Group
Clients client: Blue Sky Building/The Edwardian Group
Overview: McGee Group commissioned ASF Waterproofing Specialists to halt the infiltration of water ingress through the retaining RC basement walls on five basement levels as they were unable to hand-over the property for the next phase whilst in the current condition.
Work carried out
Resin Injection
All leaking cracks & construction joints were identified, drilled and injected with Newton 323-SA Acrylic Resin to provide the required hydrophilic seal throughout the entire basement complex.
Upon completion of the resin injection stage we were determined to never again see water ingress throughout this building so the ASF Waterproofing contract management team advised the client to further reinforce the waterproofing system by applying Newton 103-S cementitious polymer-based ”spray applied” waterproof membrane to all areas previously injected.
Membrane Application
All defects and drilled holes on the face of the walls were initially filled with Newton 313 rapid setting mortar to provide a continuous smooth surface.
Newton 103-S was then spray-applied in two 1.5mm coats via our specialist air-driven pump to complete the process.
